I remember when I was little I used to give mum and dad a kiss goodnight every night before I went to sleep. And one night I didn't do it and mum came into my room and said "You didn't give us a kiss goodnight." I said "I know." And mum said with a sad smile "Goodnight." I was at the age where I felt I didn't need to kiss my parents goodnight anymore but I remember this, maybe because I felt bad that I didn't want to do it anymore. I think it was a sad moment for mum but she gracefully accepted that I was growing up.
